Human Rights

A major challenge for any corporation worldwide is that of verifying and enforcing Human Rights not only within the organization but also throughout its supply chain. This has become particularly true when value chains spread across borders and nations.

At FUNO, we are convinced that human right respect, diversity and engaging our supply chain, brings about many benefits for our businesses and for Mexico. Hence, we became signatories of the United Nations Global Compact in 2016 and we are committed to annually report our progress on:

  • Rejecting all kinds of discrimination.
  • Promoting equality for women and men.
  • Recognizing children’s rights and avoiding child labor.
  • Recognize the right to health care and we have successfully granted it for 100% of our employees: either through public services or private insurance.
  • Recognize the right to favorable and just working conditions; and we constantly strive to provide it for our employees.
  • Reject slavery, forced labor and human trafficking.
  • Recognize the right to collective bargaining.
  • Upkeep best international labor practices.
  • Committed to maintain high levels of confidentiality with the information we gather, use, keep and reveal to and from our stakeholders.
  • Strive to provide safe working conditions to all our employees and subcontractors.

Non-discrimination

At FUNO we work constantly to create working spaces free of discrimination. Our Code of Ethics, our policies and our organizational culture, aim at granting inclusion and equality regardless of gender, age, nationality, ethnics, race, color, religion, language, opinions, sexual orientation, civil status, health conditions or political preferences.

Some measures we have taken to achieve this and avoid or reduce our risks to fall into discriminatory practices are:

  • Our Code of Ethics, fully covers this issues; and all our employees receive training on it.
  • FUNO avoids discriminatory references to race, gender or age in its marketing and PR communications.
  • Every vacant position, has a written profile, stating starting salary and required skills.
  • Questions to any candidate on civil status, family background or any similar information; are performed only for statistical purposes and do not influence candidates hiring opportunities.
  • We constantly perform communication, education and employee awareness on our whistleblowing mechanism, through which any employee, supplier and relevant stakeholders may submit any complaints.

Child Labor

The organization does not under any circumstances hire anyone under the age of 15; or under the age of 18 for activities which could be dangerous. FUNO has established several control mechanisms to avoid minors working for us; such as:

  • Age due diligence with birth certificate and other official records.
  • Proof of completion of education.
  • Psychological tests.
  • All our internship or part time employees, are recruited through institutions recognized by the Mexican Ministry of Education and do not constitute our main workforce.
